Internship Opportunity: Creative Content Intern

Waterford Treasures is Ireland’s premier museum quarter, located in the historic Viking Triangle in Waterford. Our portfolio includes:

We bring 1,100 years of Irish history to life through immersive storytelling, artefacts, guided tours and digital experiences.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Creative Content Intern with a genuine interest in Irish history, heritage, and storytelling.
This internship is ideal for a student or emerging creative who wants to build a professional portfolio in:
• Heritage storytelling
• Photography and videography
• Social media content creation
• Blog writing and editorial content
• Short-form video production
You will work closely with our Head of Sales & Marketing, curators and guides to capture and create compelling digital content across our museums.
What You’ll Do
Content Creation
• Capture high-quality photography and videography across our museum spaces
• Film short-form video content (Reels, TikTok-style edits)
• Produce engaging behind-the-scenes footage
• Document exhibitions, tours, visitor moments and artefacts
Blog & Editorial Writing
• Write blog posts for the Waterford Treasures website
• Develop short historical features based on artefacts
• Create “Did You Know?” heritage stories
• Support newsletter and campaign copywriting
Social Media
• Producing content for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
• Edit short videos (15–30 seconds)
• Contribute to seasonal content planning
• Help shape storytelling themes (Viking, Medieval, Georgian, Irish social history)
What We’re Looking For
• Strong creative instinct and visual eye
• Proficiency in photography and videography
• Experience with video editing (CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut or similar)
• Confident using smartphone and camera equipment
• Excellent written English
• Interest in Irish history and heritage storytelling
• Self-motivated, organised and comfortable working independently

Internship Structure
