Dr John Gilmartin
Dr John Maiben Gilmartin is a distinguished art historian and has had an important and varied career in the arts. He was a curator in the National Gallery of Ireland and deputy keeper of the Museum and Art Gallery in Birmingham. He is now President of the Friends of the National Collection of Ireland. He has been published widely and has lectured at the Smithsonian and at Heidelberg. He has a special interest in the Order of St. Patrick and the court life at Dublin Castle in the early 20th century.
