The talk will be on Upton, who was a Waterford man and perhaps the most radical and influential Irish journalist in the first half of the 20th century and author of Padraig Pearse’s propaganda sheet during Easter week 1916.

Dr. Anthony Keating is a Senior Lecture in Psychosocial Analysis of Offending Behaviour at Edge Hill University in Lancashire, England, after a career working with offenders in community and custodial settings. He has a longstanding research interest in censorship and radical journalism in the Irish Free State.
